Before Treatment
You’ll start your IPL fotofacial experience with a consultation with one of our Medical Aestheticians. They will examine your skin for any visible signs of sun damage or pigment irregularities and create an individualized treatment plan to help you achieve your goals.
During Treatment
The IPL fotofacial begins with a cool gel applied to the treatment area. As the laser pulses, you may feel a warming sensation. Each treatment typically takes about 30 to 45 minutes.
After Treatment
You can expect to see mild redness and pigment darkening immediately after treatment. Over the course of the following week, you will notice brighter and healthier-looking skin. Your Medical Aesthetician will provide you with an at-home skin care recommendation that best suits your skin type and needs.

What areas can be treated with IPL fotofacial?
We can treat anywhere on the face or body. The most common areas of treatment are the face, neck, chest, and back of the hands because these areas are most often exposed to sunlight and its damaging effects.

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is a non-invasive and non-ablative technology that uses high-intensity pulses of visible light to improve your skin’s overall tone and texture.
Will I have downtime after an IPL fotofacial?
The procedure is non-invasive and quick. After your IPL fotofacial treatment, there is minimal downtime for 48 hours. Your Medical Aesthetician will review post-care instructions with you.
What does IPL feel like?
IPL is very tolerable. There is no need for a topical anesthetic. During treatment, you may feel a light stinging similar to a rubber band snap. However, patients feel fine immediately after treatment.
How many treatments will I need?
This will depend on your skin and desired results. We’ll work with you to personalize a treatment plan that accomplishes your aesthetic goals. We may also recommend combining your treatment with other aesthetic services to enhance your results.
