PRP FACELIFT

The PRP Facelift procedure combines the science of the hyaluronic acid filler and growth factors and stem cells derived from your own blood to smooth out wrinkles, stimulate collagen production, and rejuvenate your complexion.

HOW IT WORKS

Your blood is comprised of plasma and platelets. Plasma is the liquid component of blood that carries the red and white cells to their destinations. Platelets are tiny cell fragments in the blood that contain growth factors and natural substances that encourage cellular growth. They provide you with the building blocks for healing when you sustain a burn or cut. By utilizing the growth factors found in the blood (specifically the platelets), a physician can activate the unipotent stem cells already in the skin and tell those cells to grow new, younger-appearing skin.
During the PRP Facelift, the provider will create your own Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP), which is a form of blood plasma that has been enriched with platelets. The PRP, along with the facial filler, any syringe of Juvéderm®, is then injected back into the face. This method of combining any syringe of Juvéderm® and PRP dramatically enhances the effects of the treatment; since the platelets contain important growth factors and ignite tissue regeneration and stimulate collagen.

WHERE ON THE BODY CAN PRP FACELIFT BE USED?

The PRP Facelift is typically used to treat the face. However, since the PRP is derived from your own biological make-up and does not contain synthetic products, virtually any area of the body can be treated, such as: the face, neck, chest, hands, scars, etc.

WHAT IS A PRP FACELIFT LIKE?

The PRP Facelift is a minimally invasive procedure, similar to that of a Filler Treatment. The procedure begins with drawing a vial of blood from the patient. The provider places the blood in a centrifuge and spins the blood at a very rapid rate to separate the platelets from the other components of the blood. The platelets are then activated, producing your very own Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP). Using a fine needle, your provider will ease the PRP and Juvéderm® under the skin to fill the soft tissue of the dermis. This adds volume, diminishes the appearance of wrinkles and nasolabial folds, improves the skin’s appearance, and stimulates the production of collagen, with only minimal downtime.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF THE PRP FACELIFT?

By combining Juvéderm® and PRP, the effects of the treatment are dramatically enhanced. Not only does PRP cause an increase in volume, PRP contains at least 8 growth factors that will, over a period of time, continually work like a rejuvenating agent. By activating these growth factors:
• The color of your skin improves and looks younger because of the new blood vessel formation.
• New collagen formation in the dermis lifts the face back to a more youthful shape.
• The epidermis (the outer most layers of your skin) appears smoother because the growth factors are working to build a new dermis

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FOLLOWING A PRP FACELIFT?

After the treatment, patients often notice fine lines and wrinkles have softened and deeper wrinkled areas, such as nasolabial folds, may look more plump and smoother. The main goal of the PRP Facelift is to stimulate and develop long-term collagen formations in the dermis. Any plumping in the treated areas with PRP may slowly be absorbed into the dermis, creating a platform for stronger skin and a healthier appearance. Most patients enjoy improvements in the skin’s complexion, texture, and tone typically within 3 weeks. Subtle improvements can progressively continue for up to a year.
